How We Will Serve
As our membership grows, our goal is to offer scholarships, and potentially internships in the career fields these deserving children strive to succeed in.
"ONGOING" involvement from school age to college to a quality gainful career, not only will help them, it will create ""productive" AMERICAN" citizens, which in turn improves our communities and our great country.
The phrase "no man left behind" used by the US military can be traced back to the French and Indian war.
We want it to be known that Surf Hogs American charities believes in a new phrase as well:
"NO HEROE'S CHILD LEFT BEHIND.”

Experiences
We have plenty of activities and events in motion for the families we support. We have planned "Survivors Retreat" weeks booked at SUN RETREATS LBI campground, where we will “host” deserving families. The parent and child will stay in one of the campground’s cabins with electricity, air conditioning, cable and a refrigerator and microwave. During the retreat the families will swim, play mini-golf and enjoy all of the amenities of the beautiful campground. They will also get surf lessons donated by local surfing legends!

After "The Survivor's Retreat Week"
Our duty to these children and their families cannot stop at “JUST” a week of sharing, fellowship and honor. Yes, it hopefully will produce smiles and some well deserved happiness.
Showing them people appreciate them and their hero they give up for us. But in an effort to make an ongoing change and impact In their lives, we plan to have the children create “make-a-wish list”, with their parents approval. So that each child may receive a gift for each Christmas and birthday up to and including their 18th birthday. In addition, for each child who achieves the “A” or “B” honor roll in school, they will also receive gift from their wishlist.
Counseling/Therapy
Dealing with loss is tough at any age, but it is so much harder for the children. If we are going to truly have an impact on these lives, we need to be there and support them through the tough times.
We are going to ensure our families are cared for emotionally and mentally, not just with gifts and fun times. We plan to partner with organizations to provide counseling services to the families and we will provide mentors to the kids to ensure they grow to be happy, healthy adults.
This is a great area for people to donate their time. You would be amazed what a few hours out of your life could do for someone!
